Ashlyn is One

First Birthdays are a time that we all treasure. While the actual parties are always more for mom and dad, the pictures will prove to be very special to children as they grow. Ashlyn had a Minnie Mouse party at her house. I was very thankful that her mom asked me to be a part of this very special day.

Ashyln is a precious little girl. Her big sister is also too fun, but she did everything she could to stay away from the camera. I did manage to get a few. Lindsay and Josh are remarkable people and parents. You can tell how much they love their daughters and like so many of us who are parents they live for them. Their friends and family were all great!

I will say I have never seen a one-year-old get into opening the gifts like Ashlyn. She was pulling out tissue paper and clothes like she was a pro! It was so funny and fun to watch.

Then came cake time! Ashlyn was very careful not to make a mess she took little pieces at a time. It was so cute. Momma finally helped her out by putting her whole hand in it, but she was not into that at all. She even shared her cake with friends and family. Nothing better than slobbery cake from a precious girl!

After cake was a quick bath and a new outfit! A Minnie Mouse shirt made just for Ashlyn! Then a few candid shots of the party as well as some special shots with Ashlyn and her Godparents and Ashlyn with Mom and Dad.

I have to say thank you to Lindsay and Josh again for letting me be a part of your special day. I hope that you enjoy the pictures as much as I have.

Many people might think that it is a waste of money to hire a photographer for special events like birthday parties, but there are several good reasons to spend the money. It means that you get to enjoy the party instead of worrying about making sure you get pictures. It means that you get all of the photos that you want and the ones that you need, you might just not think about it. I do photography to capture the moments in life that are special so that they can be shared for generations. Call or e-mail me for your special event. (205) 229-1865 or monicathach@gmail.

The Daniels Family

My first contact with Jessie was through a contest I was having on my Facebook photography page for the best team supporting picture. I had Blazer's fans, Auburn fans, Tennessee fans, and Alabama fans entering. Jessie sent me a great picture of her, her husband and their 2 children sporting their Alabama gear. The picture with the most "likes" won. Jessie was almost there, in fact I think there were only a few votes separating the winner and Jessie's pictures. I offered her a discounted session for coming in second. I also offered her another discount because her husband is in the military.

I have a special place in my heart for all of this countries military. The soldiers and their families make this country amazing. These individuals make the greatest sacrifices for all of us who live in America. Brent thank you for your service to all Americans again. Jessie thank you for the sacrifices that you make as well, I know it is not easy to be a military wife but I also know and I hope that you know it is an honor.

Jessie and I made plans on several occasions for a session, but with two children and her husband in boot camp they just never worked out. I really hated it, because I was really looking forward to her session. She contacted me earlier this month about getting together for a session. I was thrilled, and of course gave her the same price from this fall.

We made plans and met at the Rail Road Park in Birmingham on February 19. The weather could not have been nicer. There was not a cloud in the sky and it was a great temperature for a February morning.

Her husband was home and I was able to thank him for his service. We did family pictures, and picture of the children. Katelyn was the cutest little girl, and as always girls love to pose for the camera. Brady was turning one so he was at the fun age of just getting good on his feet and a smile that just made you happy. They are an amazing family and were so full of love and happiness. I truly appreciate being able to photograph them. Thank you Jessie and Brent for the amazing opportunity of being able to work with your family. I hope that I have the opportunity again!

Impromptu Valentine's Session with the White's

Everyone knows that 9 times out of ten I will have my camera on hand. This is something I do because I love to take photographs of everything and I never know when the moment will happen. The boys are quite often doing something spontaneous and I love being able to capture that moment. Valentine's Day was no exception. Danny's class had their party and of course I was there to take pictures and spend some time with my Danny Man. When I went to get John Michael from school I was talking to my friend Phyllis. When she pulled Michaela out of the car I was so taken by her precious outfit. She looked like a magazine cover for Valentine's Day. Sam, her brother and also John Michael's best friend was all handsome in his red to celebrate too. Of course I asked if I could take a few pictures. She accepted and I was able to get some really sweet pictures of these two celebrating Valentine's Day! Phyllis thank you so much for allowing me the opportunity to capture these two! It means so much to me!

Josie is 4 Months Old

Being a professional photographer allows me to do what I love and love what I do. It is the ultimate recipe for success. I am ready for 2011 and the sessions that it brings. I know that I have neglected this blog and that will change. I plan to blog about and post at least one picture from every session or event here. This way I can talk about the amazing experiences that I am blessed with having. I also hope that I am able to Network a little.

I am blessed with a great friend who has a beautiful daughter that loves to get photographed! Today I was watching her so her mom could go on an interview, say a prayer for positive results, and of course my camera was on hand. I hope that her mom and dad enjoy the photographs as much as I enjoyed taking them.
