The Rainey Boys

Working with Joey and Nicki was a lot of fun! Brandon worked with Jennifer while she was at EWTN, and I am glad to be able to work with her and her family.

We were actually going to go to EWTN for the pictures, but received no reply with a yes or a no. It seems that it should be okay since there are pilgrims there all of the time with cameras. Maybe we will hear soon and it will add to my possible photography locations. We ended up choosing a classic, the Birmingham Botanical Gardens.

With the trees and some select flowers blooming it was a great location. The only downside was the rain the day before pretty much had everything saturated so ground shots were few and far between.

It took Joey a few minutes to warm up to the idea of being photographed but once he taught me how to smile we were on track. Joey is so precious with his dark curls and big brown eyes. Girls beware...he is going to be a heart breaker.

Nicki was ready to go when they arrived, well after his shoes were located! Anyone with children knows the fun age where they do not like and learn how to remove their shoes. His blond hair and blue eyes made him the cutest boy. He had the classic look and with those blue eyes the girls better watch out.

Jennifer and Travis were also in a few shots. Family photographs are always so much fun with a natural element instead of a stuffy studio. We found a great gazebo that worked perfectly and most importantly was dry!

I have to say this family was so much fun and so patient as I had both of my boys with me as well, which always makes for an interesting day at work. They have a hard time with the fact that this is my career! It was all in all a wonderful session.

If you want to have your children photographed in a natural location where they can run and have fun, let me know. I am here for all types of photography needs, in fact all of your photography needs. E-mail me at monicathach@gmail.com or call me at (205) 229-1865 and we will get you on the books! I even travel so do not think that you are too far away for an amazing experience.

Baptism Blessings

Being asked to be at Morgan Makenzie's baptism was a special moment. Kimy and Steven are like family to us and this was an event we would not have missed. Brandon and I asked if they wanted photographs and a video of this special time and they did. We were glad to be able to do this for them.

There is a picture the day that my mom and dad brought me home from the hospital of Kimy holding me. Well she is propped up on pillows, and I am propped up on her, she was only 6 months old. This is how long I have known her. She s truly like a sister to me and I am so thankful that in 30 years we are still a part of each others lives. I am sure that it will be the same 30 years from now.

Kimy, Steven, Morgan Makenzie, Deborah and Tony all joined Clear Branch Methodist Church on March 6, 2011. This alone was a special time, as it is always great to find a church where you feel welcome. Finding somewhere that makes it possible for your relationship with Jesus to grow. This is what they found at Clear Branch. They chose this day to also have Morgan Makenzie baptised.

The ceremony was truly a special one as Kimy and Steven told everyone that they would raise Morgan in a Christian home and ask everyone to prayer for her as she grows in her own Faith. After the ceremony was a nice lunch prepared by Roselle (my mom) and Sybil. This was a great time for everyone to come together and celebrate the day and each other.

Thank you again Kimy and Steven for letting Brandon and I be a part of your special day. It meant so much to us. We love you all.

Ashlyn is One

First Birthdays are a time that we all treasure. While the actual parties are always more for mom and dad, the pictures will prove to be very special to children as they grow. Ashlyn had a Minnie Mouse party at her house. I was very thankful that her mom asked me to be a part of this very special day.

Ashyln is a precious little girl. Her big sister is also too fun, but she did everything she could to stay away from the camera. I did manage to get a few. Lindsay and Josh are remarkable people and parents. You can tell how much they love their daughters and like so many of us who are parents they live for them. Their friends and family were all great!

I will say I have never seen a one-year-old get into opening the gifts like Ashlyn. She was pulling out tissue paper and clothes like she was a pro! It was so funny and fun to watch.

Then came cake time! Ashlyn was very careful not to make a mess she took little pieces at a time. It was so cute. Momma finally helped her out by putting her whole hand in it, but she was not into that at all. She even shared her cake with friends and family. Nothing better than slobbery cake from a precious girl!

After cake was a quick bath and a new outfit! A Minnie Mouse shirt made just for Ashlyn! Then a few candid shots of the party as well as some special shots with Ashlyn and her Godparents and Ashlyn with Mom and Dad.

I have to say thank you to Lindsay and Josh again for letting me be a part of your special day. I hope that you enjoy the pictures as much as I have.

Many people might think that it is a waste of money to hire a photographer for special events like birthday parties, but there are several good reasons to spend the money. It means that you get to enjoy the party instead of worrying about making sure you get pictures. It means that you get all of the photos that you want and the ones that you need, you might just not think about it. I do photography to capture the moments in life that are special so that they can be shared for generations. Call or e-mail me for your special event. (205) 229-1865 or monicathach@gmail.

JT's 8th Birthday

Every Birthday is special. JT is a friend of Danny's and he is such a sweet guy! He celebrated his 8th Birthday at Total Baseball in Homewood. This was a great place for a group of boys! They were able to use the batting cages and then the open play area, they proceeded to play a game of flag football. It was great to watch them all having such a great time. Boys need room to move, and this gave them that. Everyone seemed to have a really good time, including the parents and siblings who were also there.

The party room where they enjoyed pizza and cake was the perfect size! Thank you Tonya for a great Saturday!
